Cost

The hospital bill isn’t the cost.

Almost every quote you’ll be shown covers the operation and leaves out everything else. Here’s how we build the number that matters.

There are no procedure prices on this page, and that is deliberate. Anyone publishing a fixed price for your surgery before seeing your records is guessing, and a guess presented as a price is how people end up with bills they didn’t expect.

What we publish is our own fee, which is fixed, and the complete list of everything else you’ll have to pay for. Every line is marked as either an estimate or a written quote, so you always know which you’re looking at.

Our fee

The only number we can state as a fact.

Because it is the only one we control.

Your Care Promise fees. Indicative ranges, confirmed as a firm figure in writing before any work begins.

The whole journey

Everything you'll pay for.

This is the list nobody shows you. We can't fill in your numbers until we have your records and a hospital has quoted for your named case, but we can tell you every line that will exist.

A complete journey cost structure. Amounts are filled in for your specific case, with each line marked estimate or written quote.

How to read any quote

Three questions that expose most of the gaps.

What happens if I need to stay longer?

Ask for the per-night cost beyond the package, in writing. A package that covers four nights isn’t a package if you need nine.

Is the implant included, and which one?

In orthopaedics the device can be a large share of the bill, and different devices carry very different prices. A quote that doesn’t name it isn’t complete.

What is explicitly excluded?

Ask for the exclusions in writing rather than the inclusions. The exclusion list is far more informative and much harder to make look attractive.

Why there is no calculator here

We could build one. It would be dishonest.

An instant price calculator needs a reliable dataset of procedure costs behind it. We don’t have one, because reliable net pricing for a specific patient doesn’t exist until a hospital reviews that patient’s records and puts a number in writing.

So a calculator on this page would be generating plausible looking numbers from averages found on the internet. It would produce a figure you might make a life decision on, and we would have no basis for it.

When we have enough written quotes from real cases to publish something meaningful, we will publish it, and we’ll say how many cases it is based on.

Questions

What people ask about cost.

Why will you not just tell me roughly what a knee replacement costs in India?

Because the honest range is so wide that it wouldn’t help you, and a mid-point would mislead you. It depends on the hospital, the city, the surgeon, the implant, whether it is a first operation or a revision, and your own medical history. A number without those inputs is decoration.

Once we have your records, we get you real written quotes for your actual case.

Is treatment in India always cheaper?

No. For straightforward procedures, once you add flights, accommodation, a companion and recovery time, the saving can be small enough that travelling makes no sense. That is exactly why we take on complex and high value cases, where the difference is large enough to matter.

Do I pay you or the hospital?

You pay the hospital directly for your treatment. We never handle your treatment money, never hold it, and never mark it up. You pay us only our own fee.

Could the total go up after I have committed?

Our fee won’t, once it is agreed in writing. Hospital costs can change if your clinical situation changes, for example if you need to stay longer or a complication arises. We tell you the moment we know, in writing, and we build a contingency into the plan rather than pretending it will never happen.
