Most companies start at the booking. We start three steps earlier, at the question nobody else is paid to ask: do you need this operation at all?

A free call. Then, if it would help you, a written opinion from independent specialists chosen for your case, explained to you by a doctor who has nothing to gain from your answer.

Only after that does anyone talk about travelling. You can stop after stage two, and a good number of people should.

The conversation nobody else will have with you

Sometimes the best news is
that you do not need surgery.

And if that is what the specialists conclude, you will hear it clearly. Not buried on page four of a report, and not softened into something you have to interpret. Dr Gunjan Patel will tell you on a call, in plain words, and explain exactly how they reached it.

She can say that because of how this company is built. Nobody pays us to put you on a plane. The specialists are paid the same fee whether they recommend surgery or advise against it. And she does not write the opinion herself, so she has no position to defend when she reads it back to you.

That conversation costs us a case management fee every time it happens. We built the company so it could happen anyway, because advice you can act on is worth more to you than advice that flatters us.

Stage One

We listen, and we tell you whether we can help

Twenty minutes on a call. You explain what you have been told and what you are trying to decide. We ask about your situation and your records. At the end of it, we tell you honestly whether an independent opinion would help you, or whether it would not. Some people are told at this point that they do not need us.

Stage Two

Independent specialists review your case, and a doctor explains it

You pay for the opinion, not for a booking. Dr Gunjan Patel reads your records, works out what the real clinical question is, and chooses the two or three specialists best suited to answer it. They write separately. Then she sits with you and goes through what they found, in language you can follow. Usually about five working days, though an urgent case can move faster and a case with hard-to-obtain records can take longer.

Stage Three

This stage only happens if you decide it should. Surgeon and hospital chosen on clinical grounds, price negotiated on your behalf, the journey coordinated, someone with you in India. Then the handover to your own doctor, built before you fly rather than after.

Who decides what

Three jobs, kept separate on purpose.

Most of the trouble in this industry comes from one party doing two of these at once.

The specialists give the clinical view

External and at arm’s length, paid a flat fee identical whatever they conclude, and never the surgeon who would carry out the operation. They have no share of your case and earn nothing if you have surgery.

We coordinate and explain

We move information, arrange things, and make sure you understand what you have been told. We do not write the opinion and we do not decide your treatment.

You and your own doctor decide

The decision is yours, taken with the doctor responsible for your care. That does not change at any point in this process.

If your case is time-sensitive

Say so on the first call and we move you to the front of the queue. A cancer plan that should start soon, a condition that is changing week to week, a surgery date already booked that you are unsure about. We will compress the review and tell you honestly how fast we can realistically go.

If it is a medical emergency

Contact your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency department, now. Do not wait for us and do not message us first. We are a coordination service in a different time zone and we cannot help you faster than your own health system can. This is the one thing we will always say before anything else.

These are the timings we work to, not guarantees, and they follow your case rather than a fixed schedule. Something urgent gets moved to the front. A case waiting on records a hospital is slow to release will take longer, and that is the most common reason it does. Either way you hear it from us as soon as we know, rather than when you ask.
